Bass Drum Coffee Table

This piece is a contemporary table built completely from salvaged materials. It features a reclaimed cherry hardwood top with an eco-friendly clear finish. The cherry is from an urban felled tree found in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The base of the table is a vintage bass (drum) that was salvaged from a school along Lake Michigan. It has an original gold sparkle finish that both blends and contrasts with the cherry top . The drum shell was cut in half and stacked to form a strong and distinct arched base. This curved form, along with the straight line cherry top, creates a sleek and modern look.

This Re-Table was an entry in the 2012 Grand Rapids ArtPrize and is now for sale in Chicago, IL at Salvage One.

This design is available in other reclaimed hardwoods and different colored vintage bass drum bases.
