This is an example of a more modern design: a pair of matching cherry built-ins that solved a unique problem regarding the TV. The right-hand built-in holds the TV on a sliding shelf (rated to 800lb) carried on a vertical mount that allows the TV to be pulled out 22″ from the cabinet and rotated for viewing on the other side of the room, all while maintaining rock solid stability (see the underside of this shelf in the photos). The left-hand cabinet houses a small drawer in place of the TV pull-out. The tops of these two built-ins were made to be interchangeable by the homeowner should they ever wish to move the TV to the left-hand alcove. A custom cherry pedestal covers the base of the TV mount which is bolted in place on the slide-out shelf. For the final build, inset handmade frame-and-panel doors feature a gentle arch that mimics the space's architecture. Featured photo shows full proposal rendering.
