These picnic tables are built to be family heirlooms. This table is made from California con common incense cedar and designed to accommodate 15 adults. The wrap-around attached benches are a unique feature to my thru-bolt picnic tables. They're 15 inches deep and can hold off the shelf chair cushions for comfortable seating hours at a time. My tables are built in any size, shape or thickness for that to-scale look that's missing with most out door dinning tables. The table shown is 135" long by 83" deep by 31" high. About thru-bolt construction
When we think of woodworking, we think of either nails or wood screws to connect the pieces. However, a through-bolt provides greater strength and stability by going all the way through and held in place with a nut on the other side. It's what the great carriage builders used until metal and welding became common. I used 130 thru-bolts on the table shown.
