I made this bench for the lobby of the Fairfield Fire Training Center in Fairfield CT. The Maltese Cross and text were carved then burned with a torch for meaningful contrast. This one is solid Iroko, a Brazilian Hardwood similar to teak and finished with several coats of hand rubbed teak oil.
