Custom Male & Female Tikis
I recently carved these tiki surfers for couple in North Carolina. I had carved them tiki bar stools previously for the husband, so when I got an email from the wife asking me to carve some full-size tikis for their 20th anniversary, I was glad to be in on the surprise.
I secured some pine logs that had been in a kiln for the proper amount of time, and set out to design a female and male tiki with a surfboard that announced their 20th anniversary.
The custom tikis were carved to specs, stained with a mix of medium and dark stains for contrast, then coated with 4 coats of marine-grade spar urethane since these would adorn an outside pool area in North Carolina.
