Like most of my projects, this industrial kitchen island was a custom request. This client requested a high end industrial look for her kitchen/great room centerpiece. She needed an island that would not only be a conversation piece, but could function as a kitchen island that would accommodate comfortable seating and storage for pots and pans. This has an amazing solid dark walnut wood top that is 1.5 inches thick finished with mineral oil so it stays food safe (no veneer here). The base is seriously strong steel finished with a black metal patina and inset mesh grate giving it that modern industrial look built with quality materials that will last more than a lifetime. The casters are cast iron with a thick rubber tread to protect floors and make it easy to rearrange for dinner parties. The overall size of this island was 5 foot x 5 foot and 36 inches high. Any size or variation can be made as everything I do is custom.
