A player's choice of flights can make a dramatic difference in the aerodynamics and accuracy of the dart. For optimal performance the dart should fly in an arc that is smooth, even, and without deviation, so that the dart accurately penetrates the board in the aimed place, and at an angle between 0 to 20 degrees up from horizontal.

Note that the feather flights are not removable from their back shafts to insure correct alignment, balance, and accuracy. These real Turkey Feather flights are permanently attached to a specialty nylon backshaft ( approx. 2 7/8", 70mm long ). The backshaft has the standard dart thread ( 2ba thread, 5mm x 0.7mm pitch ) and are simply screwed into any standard dart body.
