Design And Fabrication Of Large Motorized Curtain
In this project, we worked with a residential client to design and fabricate a 22' wide. 16' tall motorized curtain for their home and a custom metal cornice with hand-painted patina. The curtain remediated a heat issue caused by the number of windows and their Western exposure, while also offering UV protection for their fine art objects.
The first image shows a visualization that the client commissioned prior to approval of the project.
The other two photos show a wide view of the project and a view from the mezzanine level.
The fabric is a linen blend from Clarke and Clarke, lined and hand-interlocked with a silky blackout material. We motorized the project using a product from Somfy Systems.
Installation was provided by a licensed drapery installation contractor and was not part of the scope of Joona's services.
