Desk
This desk was created from a fantastic piece of Red Oak. Before the tree died, it had been living on a sloped river bank in Pennsylvania, the conditions under which it grew, allowed the trunk to take on a unique bend and grain pattern. I chose this slab and shaped the bark edges ever so slightly to create a flowing, freeform feel that is as beautiful to look at as it is to touch. It is finished with six coats of an oil/poly finish and hand buffed to a satin look and feel.
