The base petal is punched so that it can slide directly over each link. The flower center hides the slide holes and link. The leather is soft so that it can be manipulated over the prong hooks of each link. Instructions included.
About a year ago, a friend came to me with a request: "Pretty Princess" just couldn't be seen in public wearing something so vulgar as a prong collar. It detracted from her natural beauty!
They had a plain, black Velcro thing...that worked okay but it was cumbersome, bulky and awkward to get on and only came in pre-set sizes
The challenge was set: attractive, light and flexible and easy to get on...and here was the kicker: fully adjustable!
Many pieces of Velcro died to attain this design.
I worked with different fasteners, hooks...all this made me certain of one thing: the leather itself had to do the work.
Many pieces of leather died...
It had to be simple or it was pointless...After 10 months of off and on staring at the project, the decision had come to admit defeat. I just couldn't get it to look good (and not take 100 hours to make each piece)...and then an answer so beautiful in its simplicity had me jumping for joy! (And smacking my head for not seeing it sooner!)
