Downton Abbey Style Wide Brim Church, Race, Wedding Hat
Couture Millinery handmade wide brim summer hat made using traditional millinery techniques. I first made a buckram frame which was hand formed over a vintage wooden hat block. The brim is hand formed and shaped with wire inserted for form and stability. I covered the buckram form with a pale shimmery ivory satin fabric and attached a netted fabric embellished with a embroidered and sequined floral design in shades of teal, turquoise and royal blue. Countless hours of hand sewing have gone into the decoration of this hat. It will truly make a fine family heirloom to be admired for many years to come.
