"Ebonized" Computer Table And Side Work Table

This was an unusual request from a customer to "ebonize" the ash that was used to make this computer desk and side work table, but the end result was very striking.

To "ebonize" the ash, which is blond or cream colored naturally, The Plane Edge used printer's ink to stain the desk and side table. The purpose of "ebonizing" was to change the color of the wood to the dark black color, but to retain the grain pattern in the wood. Glossy black paint simply would have covered the grain completely and not allowed the wood grain to show through the color. Once the printer's ink was dry, several thin coats of a semi-gloss polyurethane was applied to the desk and side table.

The computer desk has a drawer on ball bearing drawer slides that accommodates most computer keyboards. The desk and work table can be configured to fit just about any work space.

The pricing below is for the set, which includes the computer desk and the side work table.

Dimensions: Both units are the same size: 18" wide x 48" long x 30" tall.
