These cutting boards are made from pieces I selected based on interesting grain patterns, color and contrast.

How it all started:
Seven years ago, while working at a cabinet shop I pulled some beautiful pieces of wood out of the scrap pile. I couldn't believe wood came in any different colors than just shades of brown. Six months later when I married my beautiful wife I started furnishing our house with pieces made of various combinations of exotic and domestic hardwoods. I have since moved on but I still enjoy making things out of quality scrap wood sourced from my old woodshop.

As I am sure you know, no two pieces of wood are exactly alike. So the cutting board you will receive will be unique and slightly different from the picture which I'm sure is exactly why you are shopping on Custom Made!
