This is the first of many vases that exhibit the "Wetlands". Done 2006 inspired by my rescue from Katrina by Cajuins, that are in tune with the land. I was not aware of my natural habitat, being surrounded by urban culture. until the flood we all had forgotten that we had built up the swamp land and it was returning to its natural form. This vase (functional) is an ancient symbol of a stork which in Asian culture means "longevity. This depicts the reality of the people being moved out of their coastal flood plain, where the "Great White Egret" thrives and returns to, which is his natural habitat. Two sided, equally strong, balanced and vibrant.
