End Grain Cutting Board

So you just bought a $300 hand forged japanese chef's knife...you know, the kind made by a lone blacksmith on the summit of Mt. Fuji using ancient trade secrets and time honored techniques passed down from his ancestors?? or maybe not. Either way, wouldn't you like to keep that edge razor sharp for as long as possible? Enter the end grain cutting board. With the grain oriented vertically, your knife doesn't actually cut the fibers of the wood; it cuts in between them. This means no unsightly scratch marks on your cutting board and less frequent sharpening of your knife!

Sizes range from 9-12" wide x 7-16" long x 1.5 - 2" thick. Woods used vary per board but can include: cherry, hard maple, walnut, purple heart, mahogany, lacewood, english brown oak. Finished with butcher block oil.
