End Grain Cutting Boards

The cutting boards that I make are done so that the end grain faces up, which means that you would not be cutting a chunk of wood out of the top and knife cuts are more self healing. The boards are usually all different and using a variety of woods and patterns. So, what I recommend is to cut on one side and then display the other side when it is not in use and it becomes an artful object that is , also, functional ! They are finished with mineral oil that should be rejuvenated about every month. Mineral oil is available at any drug store for about $6 and will last for many coats.
