Engagement Ring Inspired By A Trip To Burma

Gary's thought was to have this ring echo some of the textile patterns found in Burmese textiles know as Lun Taya Acheik. He provided several images showing the diversity of this traditional weaving technique while confirming the s-shaped waves that are common in these textiles. This became our chosen design inspiration.

Since Burmese ruby is highly prized we built the ring around an oval ruby set in an 18K yellow bezel. An organic tribal feel was our goal, so we explored several design options until finalizing on the ring having a domed inner surface with the woven motif expressed in platinum, with a border edge.

Gary proposed during a trip to Burma, presenting this ring, and it will serve for a lifetime as a powerful symbol of the union of he and his fiance.
