I roll out slabs and then, using a series of templates I have designed, layout the components of the jar: Sides, Bottom, Lid/Top/ and Gallery Ledge.
I textured these slabs with a bisques stamp that I made from a found texture on a tool box lid.
The entire piece was treated with Red Iron Oxide which traps in the deep texture and highlights it and also drives the clay body to a richer terra cotta color when fired
