Cutting Boards

These boards come in three forms: Flat Grain - simply a board as you imagine with the flat grain up, Edge Grain - boards with narrow strips joined to make the wider board, End Grain - boards with the grain running up and down in the board.

The flat grain boards are most useful for cheese and charcuterie boards and such, while lending themselves to engraving. Edge grain boards are best suited for heavy cutting and chopping in relationship to their size and weight and are usually at least 1 3/4" thick. The end grain board is the classic butcher's block style, most forgiving to fine knives and suitable for any use. These boards are best suited to making decorative boards.
