Exterior Staircase - Pacific Grove, Ca.
The Monarch Pines Mobile Home Park needed a broad comfortable staircase to connect the ends of two roads. Many of the residents are elderly, needing assistance up the stairs, lighting on the treds, and a stopping place part way yp.
The Stair Horses were pressure treated douglas fir, the posts, 2"x6" rails and pickets were all redwood, the trees are Machiche - a very hard, exotic wood with a percentage of silicates that prevent weathering. The light is low voltage, high intensity and is controlled by an automatic timer. The grab rails are 1-1/2" Pine, finished with Sikkens Brand California Redwood.
Dimensions: Four foot wide walking width of tred. The run is approximately 35 feet.
