The Fair Isle tray was the result of a collaboration with an enthusiastic and creative knitter, my partner Deborah Mc Devitt. She was knitting a sampler using the complete range of colors produced by our friends at Swift River Farm. The tray was a means of presenting and framing the work while also making it a useful household item.
The main body is hand formed 11 gauge steel. The feet, handles, and flower centers are cold rolled steel rod, the petals are hammered 16 gauge sheet steel. The finish is wire brushed and clear coated. The final weight with 1/4" glass plate is 21.5 lbs.
