Figured Cherry Coffee Table
This coffee table is constructed of figured cherry, quilted maple, and wenge. The table top features squares of cherry arranged so that the wood grain alternates direction in adjacent pieces, creating a basket-weave pattern. Inlay of wenge surrounds each panel of cherry. A band of quilted maple surrounds the cherry field, and the combination cherry and wenge edging is carved in an undulating wave pattern. Figured cherry aprons are set off by a delicate wenge bead along each curved bottom edge. Curved and tapered wenge legs terminate in a delicate cherry foot.
