Funky Frit Bowl
This was an experiment that ended up turning out kinda cool and is now my candy dish.
The purple crescent-esque design was made entirely of different sizes/colors of frit (bits of crushed glass) that was fired in the kiln to create this "chunk" that I applied to a clear, round piece of glass. It was then fired, ground to remove any sharp spots and then refired at a lower temperature while using a mold to shape the bowl.
Due to the nature of handmade items, if I were to make another bowl like this, it would be similar but never exact. That is the fun part about handmade......it is always one of a kind.
p.s. It is dishwasher safe ;)
