These hand raked fused glass panels are decorative inserts into stemware cabinets. Two of the panels were installed in opposing cabinets while the third was installed in a cabinet in a different location but within view of the other two. The clients wanted glass created that captured the movement and color of the ocean currents. The panels combine areas of solid color with areas of hand raked glass on a diagonal design that is loosely mirrored. The raked glass was achieved by heating the glass to near molten and then raking across the surface to create the organic swirls and eddies. Dichroic glass nuggets were then tack fused onto the surface of the panels to add dimension and movement as the colors shift slightly depending on the angle from which the panel is viewed. The panels are part of a design ensemble that includes the bar, dining room and lounge. The colors and flow of the art glass for the cabinet inserts extends to the panels for the dining coffer and two cocktail table tops. The art glass panels are 6.25" x 17.25" each and are lit from behind by LED panels.
