What a wonderful artist Michelle is! After meeting with us initially to better understand what we had in mind for the transom window, she prepared several artist drawings with suggested themes. Every one was a possibility that we could have been pleased with. With her talent it made it difficult to decide. We settled on one, then changed to another, and finally after incorporating elements from more than one, and with further changes and additions we finally settled on what has become a work of art in the 6' wide arched transom window above our 8' front doors. It incorporates elements of the family's heritage with a truly wonderful rondel at it's center.
The palette for this fused glass platter was inspired by the California Poppies that bloom on Big Sur in the Spring. The warm colors of the hand raked glass flow in contrast to the Royal blue opaque glass bands that divide the space. It makes a stunning statement on any table. The platter has a gentle curve perfect for serving your favorite appetizer or displaying fresh fruit. The platter is food safe but should be hand washed. Not for use in the microwave. 16" x 6"
