This was a commission for a plaque for a Cancer Care Fund garden in Warsaw, Indiana. It is an original made in wax and cast in stainless steel. The flower is the pink echinacea and each petal was individually made since each cancer patient and each person is individual. Alone we are petal but together we can make a flower or a garden, so it's each contribution that an individual makes and each cancer patient that makes a difference so that together we can have a beautiful garden of humanity. The flower off to the right by itself represents one of the two time breast cancer survivors who wrote a passage out of Psalms as her inspiration to keep pushing on. She wrote it with her own handwriting into the wax before it was cast. By this way she will always be remembered for how she has encouraged others and her help in bringing this garden to reality. The words "Garden of Hope" are in negative space so that the sunlight can shine through thus giving light to the hope.
