This piece is hand turned on a wood lathe. I first turn the wood and inlay the elements starting with the pewter that I turn back to the surface. Next I chip inlay the stones that are hand ground to give a smooth surface. The last element is to apply the gold wire then spray with multiple coats of lacquer.
The main body is spalted madrone burl form Oregon. The neck is bloodwood. The inlays are pewter, turquoise, opal, azurite with applied twisted gold wire.
