Gaye's Box

This box was made for my wife (or should I say I was forced to.) It reflects an early English influenced period of design.
I originally wanted to line the box with a floral designed paper, but I fell in love with how the grain looked, so I (we) settled for black leather for the trays.
The woods used were: Macassar Ebony, Spalted Maple, Shedua and Maple.
For decorative accents, stainless steel strips inlayed into body, Brass pins into the feet and top.
This box has one fixed tray and one removable, sliding tray.

5 coats of hand rubbed oil finish and two coats of English wax.
The size is 12" x 6.5" x 5".
