These four steel, gold-plated statues of deer, where commissioned by the Dierberg Foundation, in Hermann Missouri. Three layers of 1/4" steel were welded together to form a thick silhouette from which I could sculpt a more three dimensional look. After priming, the Deer were covered with gold-leaf. The Deer were mounted on brick pillars at the entrance of the Folks-Platz. Mr Dierberg brought me a photograph of a sign he had seen in Germany, He wanted an American White-Tailed Deer in a majestic pose. After some sketching and different proposals I was able to complete the job in 3 months. Job was completed in 2007, Cost shown are for each deer.
