This blade was made from a triple layer Hitachi Yusaki steel using the stock removal process. Material is rough forged as tradition would expect leaving the white paper core exposed and polished for contrast. Knife was made as a hidden tang blade with no fasteners exposed. Cutting edge +/- 3 " , Handle 4" , OAL 7" , Spine thickness .110". Blade will need to me maintained as a steel knife coating lightly with oil. 61hrc will provided a sharp edge that will retain itself through harsh abuse of a woodsman. Knife was assembled as follows brass , grey vul.spacer, white/brown bamboo, grey vul. spacer, Black paper micartia, grey vul. fiber and finally brown/white bamboo.
