Good's Kitchen
Occasionally I will design and build a kitchen for one of our clients. One of my favorite kitchens we made was for a client that had an antique armoire that she wanted to match the detail and color of for her kitchen cabinets. I took a door of the armoire back to my shop to copy. I had knives made for my shaper to reproduce the moldings and made an exact match to the antique door. I made the cabinets out of eastern pine and applied a stain and a hand rubbed water resistant varnish. The cabinet interiors are clear finished maple plywood, the drawers are solid maple sides with maple plywood bottoms and dovetail joints. The drawers have under mount soft close full extension slides and the doors have traditional butt hinges and catches. The farm table island has 8" square legs which hide the plumbing and electrical lines to the island. The range hood has a stainless steel liner with lighting and an exhaust fan for the commercial gas range. The trim in the kitchen was made to match the cabinets as was the door to the pantry closet on the opposite side of the room bringing the room together.
