I herewith present to you: The Black Industrial Goth Lockable Steampunk Leather Journal .

This book uses two pieces of vegetable-tanned leather for the front and back covers. Four bands of the same leather connect front and back covers, and are riveted to the cover leathers with leather rivets. The pages are sewn onto the four black leather pieces that wrap around the spine. The thread is black 4-ply Irish linen thread. Grooves are cut into the black leather, and the linen thread is recessed into those grooves. A close view of this is given in the second picture in the listing. The grooves give a beautiful texture to the spine.

The padlock isn't one of those fakey little things that you can open with a toothpick, but a small Master padlock, made for securing suitcases and such. The hasp is riveted in place with aluminum pop rivets. The metal plates are thin zinc-plated aluminum sheet metal, folded double and riveted in place with leather rivets.

This book doesn't just look tough, it is tough.
