Gray Toned Queen Bed Made Reclaimed New Orleans Houses And Ceiling Tin

This handmade queen bed is crafted solely from reclaimed antique wood found only in New Orleans. In making this bed I wanted to preserve the history and beauty of these old pieces. On the side rails and posts, I've embraced the termite holes, accentuated the cracks, and left any old nails still in the wood.

The headboard is made from an old door that I salvaged from a flooded home. It took on nearly 5-7 feet of water and the home remained submerged for almost two weeks.

The wood has been dried, refinished, sanded and polished, but it still has a distressed look that only Hurricane Katrina could do. The panels of the headboard have been inlaid with a decorative Victorian ceiling tin pressed in Laredo, Texas during the 1920s. The blue and silver tones of the tins pair beautifully with the smoky gray tone of the wood.

Each bed is custom made to order. I will work with you to determine the appropriate size, color, and pattern of each piece. I also carry a variety of different tin patterns. All beds require assembly and come with the hardware needed.
