The box is absolutely beautiful! Bruce is lovely to work with. He was able to listen to what I wanted then was able to use his expertise to create a very striking memorial box for my dog's ashes. From exotic wood selection to size dimensions, Bruce guided us through the best looking options and was honest and direct when we were leaning towards things that wouldn't look good. I appreciate how easy it was to trust Bruce's aesthetic style and talent rather than having to research and worry about every detail myself. Not everything I make are jewelry boxes, my love of Greene & Greene period furniture and details moved me to make this. I've utilized G&G details in some of my boxes, and this time I just had to build an entire large project that reflects their style.
This table is made out of Cherry, instead of the usual Mahogany that is usually used in this period.
The Ebony plugs and inset details holding the bread board ends to the top and also Ebony, pillowed and buffed to a high sheen.
The table is finished in 5 coats of hand rubbed oil, and the top additionally has 3 coats of hand rubbed urethane as a protection from liquids.
The size is 40" x 24" x 20"
