This chest of drawers is inspired by the brothers Greene, furniture designers that defined the Arts and Crafts furniture movement in the early 1900s. Many of the design elements that the Greenes used, such as the finger-jointed drawers with "pillowed" relief, ebony highlights and cloudlift detailing, are revived here. The piece is solid Honduran mahogany (Swietenia Mahogani), red oak interior skeletal structure, and joinery reinforced and highlighted with solid ebony.
Asian aesthetic is an undercurrent here, as evidenced by the gentle flare of the legs downward from a disproportionately large cabinet top. The drawer handles are handcrafted and positioned on each drawer following "Phi", or Golden Ratio. The piece's overall dimensions are also Phi-centric.
