Hakozen (Stacked Box)

Hakozen is Japanese for tableware box. Variations included storing fine tableware, small dry goods, and a way to transport meals. This isn't a hakozen in it's intended use, but influenced by the design of the originals. An elegant way to store jewelry, small keepsake items, sentimental mementos, etc.

Two solid walnut trays and a removable lid make up the box. The bottom panels and dividers are done in fragrant port orford cedar. The wenge handle is mortised into the bottom tray.

Custom orders can be arranged, available in various hardwoods and sizes, contact for more info.

Dimensions: 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 4" inches tall. The handle is 10" x 12 1/2".
