Hand Carved Horned Owl Nature Scene
I hand carved this Horned Owl and carved out a natural setting for it as well. Measuring 2.5 feet x 3.5 feet, the carving was installed in a rectangular recess in a double sided chimney. The opposite side was the Snapping Turtle also seen on my site here at Custom Made. The scene features even the smallest details, like Oak leaves and acorns. Looking closely you can see a vole in the clutch of the Owl. Each carving is one of a kind, and I can design and take commissions on various themes. The carving pictured here is shown in grey primer. I hand painted the piece after the installation by blending the colors in the stone work.
