Hand Carved Sapele Corbels
I carved four of these corbels for a home in Vermont. The client wanted a classical design, but wanted them to be original and unique. Using an Acanthus leaf motif and a classically proportioned scroll, I came up with this design and carved it with a relatively deep relief. I also left the tool marks to highlight their handmade quality.
