Hand Forged Steel And Bronze Boat Sculpture
This title of this artwork is "The wisdom of Insecurity".
This sculpture is hand forged.
The boat is steel and the waves and abacus are bronze. The frame of the abacus is crafted from exotic wood.
I created this piece to represent the state of the economy. The boat is still afloat but it is struggling amongst the large waves.
The abacus represents financial insecurity. 2008 has affected many peoples jobs as well as their ability to retire.
I wanted the work to show struggle but also hope.
