This piece can be made in just about any size, however about 15X18 offers the best balance between cost and size. It does not get much cheaper if you go smaller. It can be made larger or course.
The paint used in this piece is not some acrylic that will come off shortly. I paint my crests the same way church windows are painted. The paint is essentially finely ground up glass. It is mixed with a medium such as oil or water, applied to the carrier piece and then fired in a glass kiln for many hours. The paint becomes integral part of the glass and will never chip, fade or come off. A true heirloom.
