This sustainably-made coffee table is so unique, your friends are sure to comment. Made of 100% reclaimed fishtail oak, an Asiatic hardwood named such for its iridescent qualities, the variations in the grain of each boards make it a one-of-a-kind piece. Paired with simple, but elegant steel hairpin legs, this table can be built bespoke to your requested dimensions or materials.
Fishtail oak is a stunning wood that blends shades of chocolate, honey, rose, cinnamon, burgundy and copper, in a breathtaking pattern not unlike the scales of a fish. I first stumbled upon it in the industrial section of NW Portland, where grayed and weathered shipping dunnage made of the material sit, waiting to be transformed from "crate to table."
