This exhibition quality cane will be handmade from scratch for you! The pictured piece features a unique handle shape crafted from Cocobolo wood. The dividers are bands of Alternating African Blackwood and a pop of bright Brass. The shaft segments are made from rare, exotic Lanceolaria wood making this piece a dark, fancy travel cane that will be a statement piece wherever it goes. The unique handle shape is comfortable and the cane is built for daily use. We can make it exactly as shown or choose from an infinite number of wood combinations for something truly unique.
Note: I have a small amount of Lanceolaria with which to make these canes, it is the rarest and most difficult wood to source that I use in my work. You will never see another piece made with this wood!
Please allow 2-3 weeks for your custom ordered cane to be crafted. Let us know your desired cane height when ordering.

All of our canes and walking sticks are designed and handmade by Shawn Gillis, an artist and woodworker who considers each piece he creates to be his "functional art." We seek out and choose to work with top quality woods from all over the world that are all sustainably harvested. Each cane is designed with durability, comfort, and style in mind so that you can enjoy using your unique piece every day for years to come. Each handle is joined to its shaft with a sturdy metal bolt that provides strength. Our canes are all completed with a glossy finish that provides protection and a smooth feel to the wood.

Here are our instructions for determining your proper cane height:
1. Stand comfortably erect with your hands at your sides, with your shoes on.
2. Have a helper measure the distance from the floor to the bottom of your forearm/top of wrist of whichever hand you wish to hold the cane with. (You may need assistance with the measurement so as to avoid disrupting an ideal posture.)
This method will allow for an ideal amount of bend in your arm. Too much, or too little bend in your arm can cause posture issues and muscle aches.
