Hank During Snowpocalypse
This is Hank - a pet portrait made for a Custom Made client. Hank is depicted proudly sitting in a deep snow drift in the middle of a snow storm. It is a 15"x20" panel, constructed using the Tiffany copper foil method and framed in a sturdy zinc frame. Hanging hardware has been securely soldered into the frame. The glint in Hank's eye and the spots on his collar have both been hand painted on and fired for permanence.
This design was drawn from a photo provided by my client. My client was consulted every step of the way and had a large part in choosing this beautiful glass. I actually utilized two different patina techniques on this panel - black and copper patina. The copper patina was used on Hank's fur and the black patina on all of the background lines. You can see a close up of the copper lines in photo 3.
Hank has also been photographed both in natural and in indoor lighting conditions (but both on a cold wintry day). You can see how the glass seems to change in different light conditions.
This was a wonderful panel to design and to build. As me about designing a panel of your own beloved pet.
