Harvard Shaker Side Table

This striking table was originally made at the Shaker community in Harvard, Massachusetts (the town, not the school) about 1840. Its clean lines illustrate why today's Shaker furniture is so prized . 5/4 trestle legs and feet supported by a 5/4 thick stretcher plus a small drawer allow it to serve as a stable sewing stand or writing desk, or as a bedside or side table. The original is in the collection of Fruitlands Museums in Harvard, Massachusetts.

Like the original, we make the Harvard Side Table in clear cherry. However, we put a bead along the edges of the feet and legs to lighten the look. Shown in shellac finish.

Dimensions: Height is 27". Top measures 29" x 18".
