Holly Spirit

St. John's United Church of Christ, San Francisco, CA

Received the Honor award from the Interfaith Forum on Religious Art in association with Faith and Form publication.

This window is unique in that it combines a number of techniques not used before in a church window. The blue and red glass are a "flashed" type glass where the surface is a color bonded to a clear base at the time it was made. To have clear and color on the same piece, I sandblasted away the color in some areas. The yellow/gold color is a silver stain that is applied to the glass and then fired in a kiln. The different elements were then bonded together to form larger pieces of multiple colors without, in some cases, a lead divider.

Dimensions: Built in 3 sections (3 lites), the window is 5 ft x 5 ft
