Horse Bowl - Spirit

Handmade Pottery, Painted Native Tribal Petroglyph Wild Mustang Ceramic Serving Dish - Soup, Salad, Cereal size

"The essential joy of being with horses is that it brings us in contact with the rare elements of grace, beauty, spirit, and fire."
~Sharon Ralls Lemon

SPIRIT was an absolute Joy and Honor to create. I have been riding horses since I was 5 and I lived for a time down in New Mexico and was able to visit some of the ancient Indian ruins that are scattered around the four corners area of the Southwest. Seeing the Petroglyphs in person was simply Awe Inspiring as a painter and I have tried to "re-create", in my own way, the glory and beauty of what I witnessed.

The "SPIRIT" bowl measures about 6 1/2" in diameter and is 3" deep and it was Hand-built by yours truly so it's not a "perfectly circular" bowl...but Beautiful in it's imperfect roundness! The inside of the bowl is an intense Cinnamon Brown (painted with 3 layers of glaze paints to achieve the brilliant color you see!) with a black swirly. On the outside I painted 3 running horses, (also painted with that Wondrous Brown), surrounded by some of the Petroglyph patterns and shapes I remember seeing at the ruins. On the underside of the bowl I wrote the word SPIRIT, surrounded it with more Symbols (Super Fun for the person doing the dishes.....YAY!) and signed and dated it.

*´♥.•NOTE ~ Please Remember: these dishes are made Completely by Hand, start to finish, and Kiln Fired 2 times. They are NOT a store bought dish that I am writing and painting on and baking in an oven {where the Design will eventually fail}....that's what makes them Super Extra Special!!
All of my handmade pottery is painted with lead free/food safe glazes. It is microwave and dishwasher safe, although I do recommend hand washing because my carefully made clay pieces, although very durable, happily deserve a little more love than commercially manufactured ware. Please do not put this in the oven!

This is a good sized bowl for a large serving of salad, soup or cereal..... or a big helping of dessert! And not only would it be a great conversation piece at your next dinner party, but is big enough to serve smaller side dishes as well!
