House Portraits

I made this drawing from an old black and white snapshot for a 90 year old woman. It became a place that was, while still standing, just a shadow of its former glory shown in the photo. It had been an estate in Armistead Gardens, Baltimore City until used as offices in WW II and never restored. The drawing has a sense of distant memory to it, something CS Lewis called "sehnsucht", somewhat undefineable, but involving a sense of place, light, heavenly places and deja vous, timelessness, childhood and innocence.

This and the other drawings of an historical house and barn in Sudbury, MA, another house in South Sudbury and a house in Wolfboro, NH, were custom made for patrons who were found by door to door sales.

These house portraits are custom made for housewarming, birthday and holiday gifts or any occasion to frame and enjoy forever. My drawing can be miniature size up to 11x14". It is drawn in india ink with a crowquill pen on acid-free bristolboard. This is made using photos of your house sent to the artist via email.

The original art can then be made into greeting cards in any number.

These drawings done by the artist, are the result of 30+ years of artistic skill.
