Hunting/ Camping/ Edc Knife

This is a smaller hunting/ camping/ or EDC (Every Day Carry) knife. The approx. 3" blade is 1/8" thick 1084 high carbon steel that has been oil quenched and tempered back to a high 50's rockwell hardness. Handle scales are homemade micarta from many layers of old denim harvested from jeans and given new life, and resin accented with brass pins and a 1/4" brass lined lanyard hole. The sheath is very thick high quality leather dyed black and finished to a nice shean. Makers mark is etched into the blade. The knife is intended as a working EDC/ hunting / camping style knife and was polished but not to a mirror finish. This knife and those I make in this style are supposed to get scuffed and marked up by use not just sit around and look pretty, though they do that as well. With use the blade will develop a naturally darker patina that actually helps protect the blade from corrosion, however all carbon steel needs to be maintained and kept lightly oiled. The oil you use depends on the purpose of your knife, if you use it for any food prep use a light coating of food safe mineral oil. If you don't use if for any food any standard oil, gun oil, 3in1 oil etc will work as a protective barrier from surface rust. The heavy duty pouch sheath has a high and low carry belt loop. The high carry has my design for a modified scout carry style allowing the knife to be easily canted up to a 45deg angle at your side or small of the back for easier use without being a full horizontal carry. This knife is based off of a production blade pattern I use but could be easily personalized or customized with another handle material/ color or dyed sheath.
