" In The Air"
My inspiration was to have a feeling of the movement in the air for this piece. Particles floating in the air.....
For the top layer I wove transparent linen that I painted with simplified motifs both on the warp and the finished piece. For the under layer I used fabric collage with methods like painting,dyeing, stitching and appliqué. Combining two to three layers is the most challenging and exciting part of this process. The end result only presents itself after the layers are in position and the light influence through the top layer brings out the hues and intensities of the lower layers.
