Here's the original request we received: I'm thinking spice rack, but for ink bottles. Cylindrical and square bottles' dimensions range from 4cm x 8cm to 6cm x 14cm; rectangular/oblong bottles from 9cm x 4cm x 8cm to 10cm x 4cm x 7 cm. I prefer unfussy, clean lines, with light wood and finish to allow the inks' labels and colors to stand out, and to be a distinctive, attractive piece of woodworking in itself.
This is what we came up with based on the customers request. A beautiful functional piece that stores and displays the customers ink bottles with an additional drawer and table surface.

I am extremely pleased with my ink shelves--The design is clean, unfussy and thoughtful; the wood is beautiful and the finish is satin-smooth. The drawer in the base was a great idea, that I would never have come up with on my own. When I get another idea for a wood-based project, I will start with Geoff at Top Notch Carpentry for design and creation.
